Light can be magical and living on the edge of Exmoor has it's perks. Westcountry Photographer Guy Harrop has been making the most of this weeks moody mists, up and out before dawn, chasing the light in the mornings and evenings across Exmoor and beyond.

Best Fish and Chips in the South West

National Trust launch 101 walks across the South West of England


Dust off the boots, wipe down the wellies, take out the trainers and flick on the flip-flops! To celebrate the changing seasons with a bit of fresh air fun and uncomplicated outdoor adventure, National Trust South West is launching an exciting new range of one-mile walks.  As part of the Trust’s nationwide Walking Festival, the new ‘National Trust One’ campaign delivers 101 short walks across the South West graded in difficulty from flip flops to wellies to walking boots. Traditional cider harvesters enjoy bumper crop


Westcountry Scrumpy time. Apple pickers gather the years cider apples during harvest at Ostler's cider Mill, one of only a handful of traditional cider orchards left in Devon.  This year has seen their sales increase twofold as Nationwide cider demand is on the up again. Harvest time for cider fruit is roughly from September to November and by October most of the fruit has fallen to the ground ready to be picked.
